Overnight Digest: Stocks to keep an eye on October 7

Watch out for these stocks for Friday's trading session.

The domestic markets traded on a volatile note in Thursday's trading session as investors adjusted their positions amid weekly F&O expiry. BSE Sensex traded within a range of 405 points and closed at 58,222 level, gaining 157 points or 0.27 per cent. 

JSW Steel, Hindalco, Coal India, L&T, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, HCL Tech, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, Tata Consumer Products, Shree Cement, and Wipro were the Top Gainers, zooming between 1 per cent and 5 per cent.

Watch out for these stocks for Friday's trading session -

Praj IndustriesOwing to heavy volumes and the prediction of strong order inflow in the coming quarters, shares of Praj Industries caught investors' attention today and surged 9 per cent, outperforming the market. On the daily chart, the stock has given a MACD as well as RSI bullish crossover. Hence, it is likely to be in focus for the upcoming trading session. The shares of Praj Industries closed the trading session 7.43 per cent higher. 

Bharti Airtel - The company provided more detail on the launch of Airtel 5G plus saying that customers in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur and Varanasi will start enjoying the cutting-edge Airtel 5G Plus services systematically as the company continues to construct its network and complete the rollout. Customers bearing 5G smartphones will enjoy the high-speed Airtel 5G Plus on their existing data plans until the rollout is more widespread. The shares of Bharti Airtel settled in red declining 2.56 per cent at the close. 

Godrej Consumer Products - The shares of Godrej Consumer Products declined up to 4 per cent post the company announced that it expects a mid-teen contraction in EBITDA for the Q2FY23, due to high inventory costs, high marketing spending, and weak Indonesia performance. However, with significant corrections in commodities like palm oil derivatives and crude oil, the company predicts recovery in consumption, gross margins expansion and upfront marketing investments in the upcoming quarters. 

Price Volume Breakout Stocks - In an optimistic market today, the shares which showed a price volume breakout included JSW Energy, Welspun Corp, Nazara Technologies, Tata Investment Corporation and Fortis Healthcare. JSW Energy jumped 12.75 per cent whereas the other four stocks gained between 4 per cent to 5 per cent.
