Overnight Digest: Stocks to keep an eye on June 24

Auto stocks took the lead with BSE Auto Index adding up to 4 per cent. The top three auto stocks lifting the index were Maruti Suzuki, Here MotoCorp and Eicher Motors zooming up to 6.6 per cent.

Following the Asian market, the domestic indices opened on a positive note on Thursday. The markets cut some gains in the afternoon session but managed to remain in green.

At close, the Sensex was up 443.19 points or 0.86 per cent at 52,265.72 level, and the Nifty was up 143.40 points or 0.93 per cent at 15,556.70 level. Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, Eicher Motors, M&M and Bajaj Auto were among the top Nifty gainers. The losers were Reliance Industries, Coal India, NTPC, Power Grid Corporation and Grasim Industries.

On the other hand, capital goods, Information Technology, pharma and realty indices traded up 1 per cent each. In the broader markets, BSE Midcap and BSE Small cap indices ended a per cent higher.

Watch out for these stocks on Friday - 

Vinati Organics - The company will be expanding its Acrylamide tertiary-butyl sulfonic acid (ATBS) capacity from 40000 MT to 60000 MT. This would involve a capex of Rs 300 crore which will be funded by internal accruals and is expected to get commissioned by December 2023. The share of Vinati Organics closed 2.42 per cent higher on Thursday. 

Ajanta Pharma - The shares of Ajanta Pharma declined 2 per cent to hit a low of Rs 1,190 per share in Thursday's trading session on an intraday basis, slipping 3 per cent in the past two trading days. This down move came after the stock turned ex-date for 1:2 bonus share on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. The company had fixed June 23, 2022, as the record date for the bonus issue. 

Price Volume Breakout - KEC International, IRB, Equitas Holdings, Eicher Motors, Triveni Turbine, Hero Motocorp, VIP Industries and Biocon are seen trading higher with rising volumes. The price-volume breakout in these shares may attract buyers to these counters. 

Bullish Engulfing pattern - The shares of RPG Life Sciences, Sharp India and Capacite infra are seen outperforming the markets on Thursday. Interestingly a bullish engulfing pattern is formed in these counters which may attract buyers in these shares on Friday. Watch out for these shares on Friday. 

Upper Circuit Stocks - Fredun Pharma and Gensol Engineering saw heavy buying on Thursday leading to an upper circuit freeze in both the micro-cap counters on Thursday. Both these shares will be on the radar of investors.
