Overnight Digest : Stocks to keep an eye on February 22
On Monday, Coal India, Hindalco, UPL, ONGC and Adani Ports were the top Nifty losers while the gainers included Wipro, Infosys, Shree Cements, Power Grid Corp and ICICI Bank.
On Monday, the equity markets ended an extremely volatile trading session closing in red for the fourth consecutive session due to the ongoing Ukraine-Russia situation. Media and metal stocks witnessed profit booking at higher levels while some buying interest was seen in banking and financial stocks.
On the sectoral front, Capital goods, FMCG, metal, oil & gas, pharma, power, realty indices slipped 1-2 per cent whereas in the broader markets, BSE midcap and smallcap indices contracted by 0.8-2.2 per cent.

InterGlobe Aviation - The stock of InterGlobe Aviation, which is the parent company of the low-cost airline IndiGo plunged 4 per cent, trading at Rs 2,025 on the BSE in Monday’s trading session. The change was as one of its promoters and co-founder Rakesh Gangwal stepped down from the airline’s board. The stock of airline company has declined for the fourth straight trading session, down 8 per cent during the same period. Keep a watch on these stocks for Tuesday's trading session.
Vedant Fashions - The shares of this ethnic wear company were traded on the downside for the third straight day on Monday, slipping 3 per cent on an intra-day basis to Rs 877.05, which is close to its issue price of Rs 866 per share on the BSE. The stock is 12 per cent down from its listing day high of Rs 993 made on February 16, 2022. The share has closed 2.95 per cent lower on Monday.
Hotel Stocks - On Monday, the equity markets witnessed the hotel stocks being in a delicious spot rallying up to 20 per cent underpinned by heavy volumes on expectations of robust outlook. Chalet Hotel surged 20 per cent to hit a 52-week high of Rs 301.40 whereas shares of Speciality Restaurants also hit a fresh 52-week high of Rs 161.75 after they gained 10 per cent in the intraday trade. Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India and Lemon Tree Hotels zoomed up to 5 per cent whereas EIH Ltd, Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts, EIH Associated Hotels and Indian Hotels Company were up by 2 per cent during the trading session.
TCS - The company announced that it has launched the TCS Sydney Digital Garage, Powered by TCS Pace™, an innovation and digital collaboration centre bringing the company’s global capabilities to the Australian market. The Digital Garage is the first such centre in the Asia Pacific, expanding TCS’ roster of TCS Pace facilities spread across New York, Pittsburg, Amsterdam, and Tokyo. The stock ended 1.6 per cent lower on Monday.
