At 4 pm, Sensex was at 57,972.62, losing 861.25 points or 1.46 per cent whereas Nifty 50 was at 17,312.90, down by 246 points or 1.40 per cent.
In BSE 200 Group, the shares of Adani Transmission, Adani Total Gas, Bharat Electronics, ABB India, and Indian Hotels have made their respective fresh 52-week highs today.

The shares of TCS closed at Rs 3,139.55 a piece, lower by 2.55 per cent on BSE today.
L&T Technology Services: The European luxury car manufacturer BMW Group has hired L&T Technology Services Limited under a multimillion-dollar, five-year contract to supply high-end technical services for the company's suite of infotainment consoles aimed at its family of hybrid vehicles. For the family of hybrid electric vehicles and the suite of infotainment consoles offered by BMW Group, LTTS has an existing ‘near-shore centre’ that offers engineering and R&D services. The shares of LTTS ended 2.64 per cent lower on BSE today.
Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited: US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) has given its final approval to Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited (Alembic) for its abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) for Chlorthalidone tablets USP, 25 mg and 50 mg. The reference-listed drug product (RLD), Sanofi Aventis US's Hygroton tablets, 25 mg and 50 mg, and the authorised ANDA are therapeutically comparable (Sanofi).
Chlorthalidone and other diuretics are recommended for the treatment of hypertension, either as the only therapeutic option or to supplement other antihypertensive medications in cases of more severe hypertension. The scrip ended 0.22 per cent higher at Rs 651.80 today.
Reliance Industries: Reliance Industries (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani declared his company's intention to invest a staggering 2 lakh crore to create its Pan-India genuine 5G network on Monday during the forty-fifth annual general meeting. He claimed that Reliance Jio Infocomm had created the most rapid and ambitious 5G rollout plan ever for the nation. According to Ambani, who was speaking about the 5G launch strategy, "We will launch Jio 5G across numerous significant cities by Diwali of 2022, including the metro cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata”. The shares of RIL closed 0.72 per cent lower on BSE today.
