Overnight Digest: Stocks to keep an eye on April 18!

Watch out for these large-cap stocks in Tuesday’s trading session!

Despite a modest recovery, Indian benchmark indices ended the session sharply lower. The BSE Sensex plunged 0.86 per cent to the 59,910 level at the close. The Nifty 50 index fell 0.68 per cent to a level of 17,706. The BSE Information Technology sector extended its losses, while the oil and gas, energy, and real estate sectors attempted to offset losses with notable gains.

Watch out for these Large-Cap stocks in Tuesday’s trading session -

Infosys Ltd - Shares of the IT major slumped more than 9 per cent as a result of intense selling pressure. For the quarter that ended in March 2023, the company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 6,128 crore, a growth of 8 per cent year-on-year. However, the company's bottom line and the top line fell short of analysts' expectations.

Tech Mahindra - Reflecting the downturn in the IT industry, shares of Tech Mahindra tumbled more than 5 per cent, being one of the session's top draggers. The sectoral index BSE Information Technology had the worst performance, losing 4.77 per cent.

Nestle India - In an otherwise weak market, shares of Nestle India, the top Sensex gainer, surprised investors with gains of nearly 4 per cent. Recently, the company's board of directors declared an interim dividend of Rs 27 per equity share of Rs 10 for the financial year, with a record date of April 21, 2023.
