Overnight Digest : Stocks likely to be in focus on December 29

On Tuesday, the benchmark indices ended higher for the second consecutive session on led by the IT, auto, capital goods and banking names.The advance- decline ratio was very favorable as investors inclined towards high quality midcap names across sectors as well as textile exporters.

At the close of the session, Sensex was up 477.24 points or 0.83 per cent at 57,897.48 level, and the Nifty was up 147 points or 0.86 per cent at 17,233.30 level.

Asian Paints, M&M, Titan Company, UltraTech Cement and Sun Pharma were among the top Nifty gainers whereas losers were IndusInd Bank, Power Grid and ICICI Bank. In the broader markets, the BSE midcap and the smallcap indices were up 0.9-1.4 per cent.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries - Sun Pharmaceutical Industries announced that one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries has received Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from DCGI to manufacture and market a generic version of MSD and Ridgeback molnupiravir under the brand name Molxvir in India. 

Ajanta Pharma - The share of Ajanta Pharma has zoomed up to 6 per cent in Tuesday's trading session. The board of directors of Ajanta Pharma approved a buyback of up to 11,20,000 fully paid-up equity shares of the face value of Rs 2 each by the company for Rs 2,550 per equity share payable in cash. The total pay-out towards buyback of shares will not exceed Rs 356 crore on a proportionate basis through the tender offer process. Keep a watch on these stock on Wednesday.

Bharati Airtel & Tata Consultancy - Bharti Airtel and Tata Consultancy Services announced the successful testing of innovative use cases from TCS’ Neural Manufacturing™ solutions suite on Airtel’s ultra-fast and low latency 5G network. The stock of Tata Consultancy was trading at Rs 3,707.70 per share, 0.33 per cent up whereas Bharati Airtel was trading at Rs 680.35 per share, 0.61 per cent up at the end of the trading session. Keep a watch on these stocks for Wednesday's trading session.

52-week high stocks - From BSE 500 index, the stocks of Birla Soft, Esab India, KPIT Technologies, K.P.R Mills, Metropolis Healthcare, Minda Industries, Navin Flourine and Tech Mahindra have made fresh 52-week highs in Tuesday's trading session. Watch out for these stocks on Wednesday.
