Overnight Digest: Stocks likely to be in focus on December 27

The benchmark indices broke the three-day winning streak and ended lower on December 24 with sensex being down 190.97 points or 0.33 per cent at 57,124.31 level, and the Nifty settling 0.40 per cent lower at 17,003.75 level.

Other than IT, all other sectoral indices ended in the red while in the broader markets, the BSE midcap and smallcap indices were down 0.5-1 per cent.

Keep a watch on these stocks for Monday's trading session:

Infosys - Infosys became the fourth Indian firm to hit a market capitalization of Rs 8 trillion (lakh crore) after its shares touched an all-time high of Rs 1,913 on BSE in the early morning. Infosys has jumped over 52 per cent so far this year. The company touched a 52-week high of Rs 1,913 and was quoting at Rs 1,859.95, up by Rs 3.15, or 0.17 per cent on the BSE.

Lupin - The company announced that it has received tentative approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) Azilsartan Medoxomil Tablets, 40 mg, and 80 mg to market a generic equivalent of Edarbi® Tablets, 40 mg, and 80 mg, of Arbor Pharmaceuticals, LW. This product will be manufactured at Lupin's Nagpur facility in India. Despite the news announced in the initial hour of the trading session, the share has closed 1.5 per cent lower in Friday's trading session and is likely to be in focus on Monday.

HCL Technologies - The stock has taken the top position in the BSE Largecap index zooming 3.12 per cent in Friday's trading session. The stock traded with a significant spurt in volume today. Since the last two trading sessions, it is trading with positive RSI and MACD. Keep a watch on this stock for further trading sessions.

Upper Circuit stocks - The stocks of Network18 Media and Investments, Hindustan Construction and Suzlon Energy were locked in the upper circuit on Friday. They are likely to be in focus on Monday.
