Opening spotlight: These small-cap stocks emerged as top gainers in the pre-opening session today!
Of the top three stocks, two stocks rallied over 10 per cent on the bourses.
The announcement of GDP numbers was a key development that took place overnight. During the March quarter, the economy grew 4.1 per cent against a growth of 5.4 per cent in the previous quarter. As per the data released by NSO, for full-year FY22, the Indian economy expanded by 8.7 per cent against a contraction of 6.6 per cent in the previous fiscal year.
Today, at the time of the pre-opening session, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in the green, at a gain of 170 points or 0.31 per cent. By 9.15 am, the index stood at the level of 55,588.27, a gain of 0.04 per cent over its previous close.
Similarly, S&P BSE Midcap & S&P BSE Smallcap surged by nearly 0.2 per cent and 0.5 respectively whereas the broad market index S&P BSE 500 went up marginally by around 0.04 per cent.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Seamless, SH Kelkar & Company, and Man Infraconstruction emerged as the Top Gainers in the pre-opening session today.
Maharashtra Seamless Ltd, an S&P BSE Smallcap company, gained 12.79 per cent to trade at the levels of Rs 624.40 apiece. The company had declared its Q4FY22 results last Friday and proposed a dividend of Rs 5 per equity share with a face value of Rs 5 each for the financial year 2021-22, subject to the shareholders’ approval.
SH Kelkar & Company Ltd, another S&P BSE Smallcap company, zoomed 11.51 per cent to trade at Rs 144.80 apiece. This company too released its Q4FY22 results last Friday.
Man Infraconstruction Ltd, another one from the small-cap universe, rallied 5.04 per cent today. At 9.07 am, the shares of the company were trading at Rs 93.80 apiece. Last evening, the company announced the incorporation of a joint venture entity named MICL Bayshore LLC in the State of Delaware, USA.
