NCC jumps nearly 5 per cent on winning new orders worth Rs 8,980 crore
The construction engineering company, NCC Ltd announced on Friday that it has bagged new orders worth Rs 8,980 crore, exclusive of GST. Reacting to the news, its share jumped nearly 5 per cent during the early trading session on BSE.
The company has received fifteen new orders from central or state government agencies in the month of December 2020. The contracts have to be executed in a time span ranging from 6 months to 48 months from the date of the award.
The company has secured orders aggregating to Rs 2,962.21 crore while its order book stood at Rs 29,361.66 crore as of September 30, 2020.
NCC Ltd is engaged in the infrastructure sector, primarily in the construction of industrial & commercial buildings, housing, roads, bridges & flyovers, water supply and environment projects, railways, mining, power transmission lines, irrigation, real estate development, etc.
The company earns 41 per cent of its revenue from buildings, 15 per cent from roads, 24 per cent from water & environment, 3 per cent from irrigation, 10 per cent from electrical services, 3 per cent from mining and 4 per cent from other services.
At 11.47 am today, the share of NCC Ltd was trading 5.03 per cent higher at Rs 60.55. It recorded an intraday high of Rs 60.7 and an intraday low of Rs 57.50 on BSE.
