Hi-Tech Pipes Limited has successfully concluded a qualified institutional placement (QIP), raising a total of Rs 500 crore. The offering was met with overwhelming demand from marquee institutional investors, underscoring strong confidence in the company's growth prospects and strategic direction.

The QIP, which opened on October 7 and closed on October 11, received bids exceeding Rs 800 crore. A diverse range of investors, including prominent domestic mutual funds, renowned foreign institutions, and treasuries, participated in the offering, reflecting a strong belief in Hi-Tech Pipes Limited's ability to navigate industry challenges and capitalise on the expanding market for electric resistance welding (ERW) steel tubes and pipes.

Notable domestic participants in the QIP included Motilal Oswal Fund, Bandhan Mutual Fund, Bank of India Mutual Fund, JM Financial Mutual Fund, LIC Mutual Fund, WhiteOak Mutual Fund, and SBI General Insurance. Additionally, several prominent global institutions invested in the offering.

Hi-Tech Pipes Limited issued 26,996,734 fresh equity shares for Rs 185.50 per share, representing a discount of 4.86 per cent to the floor price and 7.39 per cent to the last traded price on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on October 7, 2024. Pantomath Capital Advisors Private Limited served as the sole lead manager for the QIP.

The successful completion of the QIP provides Hi-Tech Pipes Limited with a significant capital infusion to support its growth initiatives, expand its operations, and strengthen its market position in the ERW steel tubes and pipes segment.

Additionally, the company reported strong sales volume growth for the second quarter and first half of fiscal year 2025. The company reported a 22.50% year-on-year increase in sales volumes for Q2FY25, reaching 123,027 MT. For the first half of FY25, sales volumes surged by 32.55% to 245,182 MT. This impressive growth is primarily attributed to increased demand across key sectors such as infrastructure, water transportation, and solar energy. Despite the challenges of the monsoon season, Hi-Tech has effectively capitalized on opportunities presented by government spending on critical infrastructure projects and private investment in renewable energy initiatives.

On Monday, shares of Hi-Tech Pipes Ltd plunged 0.02 per cent to Rs 201.20 per share from its previous closing of Rs 201.20 per share. The company has a market cap of over Rs 3,500 crore. In July 2024, FIIs bought FIIs bought 1,24,80,000 shares and increased their stake to 8.72 per cent compared to 1.82 per cent in June 2024.
