Markets traded strong for the day; Realty, Media and Auto sector stocks participated the most

Hero Moto Corp, Tata Motors and ITC were the top gainers while BPCL, Cipla and Grasim were the top losers amongst Nifty 50 stocks.      

Market update at 3.30 PM:   

Nifty traded strong for the day after the gap down opening and in the  afternoon session it witnessed some profit booking as well. Nifty closed 84 points higher above the closing level of last trading session at 18,398 level. 

S&P BSE Sensex also lost gains from the day’s high and managed to close 297 points higher at 62,345 level. Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Small cap 100 closed stronger, 0.75 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively.

Realty and Media sector traded strong for the day while Pharma and Energy sector stocks remained neutral.          

Hero Moto Corp, Tata Motors and ITC were the top gainers while BPCL, Cipla and Grasim were the top losers amongst Nifty 50 stocks.      

Today, Nifty traded higher after filling the opening gap and at the closing time it witnessed profit booking as well. It closed just below 18,400 level and may gain more strength once it starts trading above it decisively.   

 

 

Market update at 11.30 AM: Indices have been trading on a positive note, thanks to strong buying interest seen across auto and realty stocks. NSE Nifty 50 index has jumped half a per cent to trade at 18,400 levels while S&P BSE Sensex has soared over 300 points. Interestingly, Nifty midcap and Nifty Smallcap have surged 0.61 per cent and 0.41 per cent respectively.

Strong corporate results from auto companies like Tata Motors and Eicher Motors have induced fresh buying sentiment in the sector. Meanwhile, India VIX has surged over 2 per cent.

About 1196 stocks have seen fresh buying interest while 812 stocks are declining today, thus showing positive market sentiment.

Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra and Hero MotoCorp are the top gainers from the Nifty 50 stocks while Adani Enterprises, Cipla and Divi’s Laboratories are weak today.

 

Market update at 9.30 AM: Indices have been trading on a higher note amid volatility. NSE Nifty 50 index has jumped 0.20 per cent to trade at 18,350 levels while S&P BSE Sensex has gained 150 points so far. However, the broader indices are trading marginally lower.  

FMCG and auto index are trading higher while metals are weak today. India VIX has surged over 3 per cent upon opening.  

 

Pre- Market Update: Dow Jones Industrial Average witnessed strong recovery from day’s low and closed around 33,300-level. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq 100 Index closed red at 13,340 level, 0.37 per cent lower. 

Precious metals like Gold and Silver closed lower 0.2 per cent and 0.8 per cent respectively while Brent crude futures fell for the 3rd consecutive session, around 1.7 per cent.

On Friday, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) bought 1014.06 crore and Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) sold 922.19 crore in equity segment. 

In Derivative segment as compared to last trading session, clients increased longs while DIIs and PROs increased shorts position in index. FIIs unwinded their existing longs and with this FIIs index long position came to 46.12 per cent from 47.13 per cent.

According to SGX Nifty, Nifty is expected to open gap down more than 40 points. 

Important earnings to watch out for the day include Coromandel International Limited, Cantabil Retail India Limited, Goodluck India Limited, Kalyan Jewellers India Limited, Patel Engineering Limited, Astral Limited, Procter & Gamble Health Limited and PVR INOX Limited.
