Markets recovered strongly from the support level of 18,200; Realty and Consumption stocks contributed the most

Bajaj-Auto, Bharti Airtel and ITC are the top gainers while Wipro, UPL and Tata Motors were the top losers amongst Nifty 50 stocks

Market update at 3.30 PM: 

Nifty witnessed some selling pressure in the morning session but later it recovered from the support level of 18,200 and rallied higher above the opening levels and made new day's high. It closed 35.75 points higher at 18,321.15 level.

S&P BSE Sensex also recovered from day’s low and closed 208 points higher at 61,872.62 level. Nifty Midcap 100 out performed the benchmark index as it rallied 0.38 per cent and Nifty Small cap 100 closed nearly flat around 0.09 per cent higher.

Realty, Consumption and Infra sector traded strong while PSU Banks and Media remained weak for the day.   

Bajaj-Auto, Bharti Airtel and ITC are the top gainers while Wipro, UPL and Tata Motors were the top losers amongst Nifty 50 stocks.     

Nifty rose 100 points and closed at 18,321.15 level, now today’s low will act as a strong support for upcoming sessions

Market update at 11.15 AM: Indices have been trading on a weaker note amid strong volatility in the weekly expiry day. NSE Nifty 50 index has slipped 0.20 per cent to trade at 18,250 levels while S&P BSE Sensex has lost 100 points so far. Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap trade marginally higher.  

FMCG and realty are the top performers while PSU Banks and metals are weak today.   

About 1,152 stocks are the advancing as against 768 stocks. 

Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Auto and ITC are the top gainers from the Nifty 50 stocks while Adani Enterprises, Tata Motors and Hindalco are weak today.Market update at 9.30 AM: Indices have been trading on a mixed note amid poor global cues. NSE Nifty 50 index and S&P BSE Sensex are trading flat, while stock specific action continues in the broader market.  

FMCG and realty are the top performers while PSU Banks are weak today. India VIX has slipped over a per cent.  

 

Pre- Market Update: Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped again and lost around 255.59 points to close at 32,752.44-level, Nasdaq 100 Index also ended lower at 13,604.48 level, 0.5 per cent. 

Precious metals like Gold and Silver also witnessed selloff and dropped 0.89 per cent and 1.68 per cent respectively. Meanwhile Brent crude futures breached the range of last 10 day’s consolidation and rallied higher around 0.85 per cent.

On Wednesday, both participants Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) and Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) supported the rally as they bought 1185.84 crore and 300.93 crore respectively in equity segment. 

Now, according to SGX Nifty, Nifty is expected to open gap down more than 40 points. 

Important earnings to watch out for the day include AIA Engineering Limited, Ashapura Minechem Limited, Aster DM Healthcare Limited, Balmer Lawrie & Company Limited, Bharat Dynamics Limited¸ CARYSIL LIMITED¸ Dhanuka Agritech Limited, eClerx Services Limited, FDC Limited, Globus Spirits Limited, Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Limited, Vodafone Idea Limited, Indian Energy Exchange Limited, Igarashi Motors India Limited, Ingersoll Rand (India) Limited, JSW Holdings Limited, Page Industries Limited, Radico Khaitan Limited, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited.
