Market Wrap: Sensex and Nifty ends marginally higher!

On June 5, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) offloaded shares amounting to Rs 700.98 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 1,195.98 crore.

Market Update at 3:30 PM: Sensex ends higher by 5.4 points above 62,700 while Nifty 50 ends marginally higher by 5 points above 18,500.

Nifty Midcap and Smallcap end on a higher note by 44 points and 57 points respectively towards the end of the day.

India VIX had surged by 2.15 per cent towards the end of the day.

Nifty Realty, Auto and Pharma were the top gaining sectors and Nifty IT, Energy and Media were among the top losing sectors towards the end of the day.

Ultra Cement, Divi’s Laboratories and Kotak Bank were among the top gainers among  the Nifty 50 and Tech Mahindra, Infosys and TCS were among the top losing sectors among Nifty 50 towards the end of the day.

 

Market Update at 2:10 PM: Sensex trades lower by 0.31 per cent below 62,700 and Nifty trades lower by 0.24 per cent below 18,600.

Nifty Midcap trades lower by 0.23 per cent whereas Nifty Smallcap trades higher by 0.21 per cent.

India VIX has surged by 2.51 per cent.

Nifty Realty, Auto and Pharma are among the top gaining sectors and Nifty IT, Energy and Media are among the top losing sectors as of now.

Ultra cement, Grasim and Maruti are among the top gaining stocks from the Nifty 50 and Infosys, Tech Mahindra and TCS are among the top losing stocks from the Nifty 50.

 

Market Update at 12:25 PM: Sensex trades lower by 0.34 per cent below 62,600 and Nifty trades lower by 0.31 per cent below 18,600.

Nifty Midcap trades lower by 0.47 per cent whereas Nifty Smallcap trades marginally higher by 0.13 per cent.

India VIX has surged by 3.23 per cent.

European stocks are heading for a mixed open on Tuesday, Echoing similar downbeat sentiment in other global markets.

Nifty Auto and Realty are among the top gaining sectors and Nifty IT, Media and Energy are among the top losing sectors as of now.

Ultra cement, Axis Bank and Grasim are among the top gaining stocks from the Nifty 50 and Tech Mahindra, Infosys and TCS are among the top losing stocks from the Nifty 50.

 

Market Update at 10:50 AM: Starting from July 7, the weekly and monthly expiry of Nifty Bank in the F&O segment will transition from Thursday to Friday.

Sensex trades lower by 0.24 per cent and Nifty trades lower by 0.21 per cent.

Nifty Midcap trades lower by 0.45 per cent while Nifty Smallcap trades marginally lower by 0.09 per cent.

India VIX has surged by 3.86 per cent.

Nifty Auto, Realty and Pharma are among the top gaining sectors and Nifty IT, Media and PSU Bank are among the top losing sectors as of now.

Maruti, Ultra cement, and Grasim are among the top gaining stocks from the Nifty 50 and Tech Mahindra, Infosys and HCL Technologies are among the top losing stocks from the Nifty 50 as of now.

 

Market Update at 9:30 AM: Sensex and Nifty opens marginally higher by 0.02 per cent at 62,800 and 0.04 per cent above 18,600 respectively.

Nifty Midcap opens marginally lower by 0.01 per cent and Nifty Smallcap opens higher by 0.15per cent.

India VIX has surged by 0.72 per cent.

Nifty Metal, Auto and Realty open on a positive note and Nifty IT, PSU Bank and Media open on a negative note.

 

Pre Market Update at 8:30 AM: Following a previous session that resulted in losses and slightly impacted last week's progress, stock futures are showing a modest decline. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures dropped by 0.07 per cent. Similarly, S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures experienced declines of 0.06 per cent and 0.1 per cent, respectively.

In futures trading, the Dollar index recorded a slight decrease of 0.02 per cent, settling at 103.93. Meanwhile, the exchange rate of one dollar remained close to Rs 82.40. Following Saudi Arabia's recent announcement to reduce production by an additional million barrels per day, oil prices experienced an increase. Gold surged by 0.36 per cent while silver plunged by 0.22 per cent.

With the SGX Nifty indicating a negative start for the broader index, opening the session at 18,697 and experiencing a loss of 30 points, it is expected that the market will open marginally lower on June 6.
