Market Wrap: Sensex and Nifty 50 end on a higher note!
In the March quarter of 2022-23, the GDP grew by 6.1 per cent, pushing the annual growth rate to 7.2 per cent. With the economy now at USD 3.3 trillion, India is on track to achieve its USD 5 trillion target in the near future.
Market Update at 3:35 PM: Sensex traded higher throughout the day by 0.19 per cent and Nifty 50 trades higher by 0.25 per cent.
Nifty Midcap and Smallcap ends higher by 0.42 per cent and 0.50 per cent respectively.
India VIX plunged by 4.31 per cent.
Nifty Realty, Metal and PSU Bank were among the top gaining sectors whereas Nifty IT and Energy were among the top losing sectors.
Hindalco, Hero Motocorp and Apollo Hospital were among the top performing stocks from the Nifty 50 and Adani Enterprises, Infosys and BPCL were among the losing stocks from the Nifty 50 towards the closing of the markets.

Nifty Midcap and Smallcap are trading higher by 0.43 per cent and 0.60 per cent respectively.
India VIX has plunged by 3.45 per cent.

Market Update at 9:25 AM: Sensex opens on a higher note by 0.38 per cent above 62,600 level whereas Nifty 50 opens higher by 0.39 per cent above 18,500 level.
Nifty midcap opens 0.48 per cent higher whereas Nifty Smallcap opens significantly higher by 0.81 per cent.
All the sectors opened on a positive note and among them Nifty Realty, Metal and Auto were among the top gaining sectors.

Market Update at 8:15 AM: India's economy is projected to grow at 6.5 - 6.7 per cent this fiscal year, driven by strong domestic factors and government investments. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures increased by 0.13 per cent while S&P 500 futures registered a 0.1 per cent increase. Nasdaq-100 futures experienced a rise of 0.13 per cent.
The futures for the Dollar index showed a decline of 0.65 per cent, trading at 103.67. Meanwhile, the value of one dollar remained close to Rs 82.33. Brent crude futures closed at $74.28 per barrel, registering a significant increase of 2.3 per cent, reaching $74.65 per barrel. Gold surged by 0.18 per cent whereas Silver surged by 0.7 per cent.
On June 1, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) offloaded shares amounting to Rs 71.07 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) purchased shares worth Rs 488.93 crore.
Based on the SGX Nifty's indication of a positive start for the broader index, with a gain of 77 points, it is expected that the market will open slightly higher on June 2. The SGX Nifty opened the session at 18,622.
