Market Wrap: Markets end lower with Nifty PSU Bank among the top losers!

On June 8, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) purchased shares worth Rs 212.40 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) offloaded shares worth Rs 405.01 crore.

Market Update at 3:30 PM: Sensex and Nifty ends on a lower note by 0.34 per cent each.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap ends on a lower note by 0.14 per cent and 0.12 per cent respectively.

India VIX surged by 1.24 per cent.

Nifty Realty was the only top gaining sector Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Media were among the top losing sectors towards the end of the day.

Indusind Bank, Power Grid and Axis Bank were among the top gaining stocks from the Nifty 50 and Hero Motocorp, Eicher Motors and HDFC Life were among the top losing stocks from the Nifty 50.

Market Update at 12:30 PM: Sensex and Nifty trade on a flat note. Meanwhile the broader indices Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap trade marginally higher by 0.18 per cent each.

India VIX has plunged by 2.04 per cent.

Nifty Realty, Nifty Bank and Nifty Financial Services are among the top performing sectors while Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty IT and Nifty FMCG are among the top losing sectors as of now.

Indusind Bank, Axis Bank and Grasim Industries are among the top gaining stocks from the Nifty 50 and Hindustan Unilever, Tata Steel and SBI are among the top losing stocks.

About 1058 stocks are advancing as against to 880 stocks that are declining. Thus indicating positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 10:55 AM: Sensex and Nifty trades marginally lower by 0.07 and 0.06 per cent respectively.

Nifty Midcap and Smallcap trade higher by 0.29 per cent and 0.18 per cent respectively.

India VIX has plunged by 2.04 per cent.

Market Update at 9:30 AM: Sensex opens higher by 0.08 per cent above 62,800 level whereas Nifty opens higher by 0.08 per cent above 18,600 level.

Nifty Midcap opens higher by 0.25 per cent and Nifty Smallcap opens lower by 0.05 per cent.

India VIX has plunged by 1.6 per cent.

Nifty FMCG, Realty and Bank are among the top performing sectors whereas Nifty PSU Bank, Metal and IT are among the Top losing sectors.

 

Market Update at 8:30 AM: Thursday night saw a decline in US stock futures following the S&P 500's achievement of its highest closing point in 2023. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures dropped by 54 points. S&P 500 futures experienced a dip of 0.12 per cent, while Nasdaq 100 futures inched down by 0.08 per cent.

Oil prices fell on Thursday as Saudi Arabia's production cut and a potential pause in U.S. interest rate hikes were offset by concerns over weakened demand and a global economic slowdown. In futures trading, the Dollar index experienced a decrease of 0.72 per cent, reaching 103.35, while the value of one dollar remained close to Rs 82.50.

On June 8, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) purchased shares worth Rs 212.40 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) offloaded shares worth Rs 405.01 crore.

On June 9, the market is expected to open with a slight increase as indicated by the SGX Nifty, showing a positive start for the broader index. The SGX Nifty recorded a gain of 35 points after commencing the session at 18,744 points. In early trade on June 9, SGX futures reached a high of 18,798.

Stocks that are banned for trading in the F&O Segment on June 9 are Indiabulls Housing Finance and Manappuram.
