Market Wrap: Frontline indices close on a lower note while Broader indices close higher!

On July 27, foreign institutional investors (FII) sold shares worth Rs 3,979.44 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) purchased shares worth Rs 2,528.15 crore.

Market Update at 3:55 PM: Sensex closes lower by 0.16 per cent while Nifty closes lower by 0.07 per cent.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap closes higher by 0.55 per cent and 0.19 per cent respectively.

India VIX has plunged by 3.62 per cent.

Nifty Realty, Nifty Media and Nifty Energy were among the top gainers whereas Nifty IT, Nifty Bank and Nifty Financial services were among the top gainers.

NTPC, Power Grid and Apollo Hospitals were among the top gainers while Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Bank and BPCL were among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 978 stocks were advancing as against to 987 stocks that were declining, thus indicating a neutral sentiment in the broader market.

Nifty Midcap trades higher by 0.2 per cent while Nifty Smallcap trades marginally lower by 0.02 per cent.

India VIX has plunged by 2 per cent.

Nifty Realty, Nifty Energy and Nifty Media are among the top gainers whereas Nifty IT, Nifty Financial Services and Nifty Bank are among the top gainers.

Power Grid, NTPC and Apollo Hospitals are among the top gainers while Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Bank and TCS are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 950 stocks are advancing as against to 1022 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

Nifty Midcap trades higher by 0.35 per ceent while Nifty Smallcap trades higher by 0.31 per cent.

India VIX has plunged by 0.57 per cent.

Nifty Realty, Nifty Energy and Nifty Media are among the top gainers whereas Nifty Metal, Nifty Financial Services and Nifty Bank are among the top gainers.

Power Grid, NTPC and ONGC are among the top gainers while Bajaj Finserv, Tata Motors and TCS are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1115 stocks are advancing as against to 826 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 9:40 AM: Sensex and Nifty trades lower by 0.12 per cent and 0.05 per cent respectively.

Nifty Midcap trades higher by 0.13 per cent while Nifty Smallcap trades higher by 0.19 per cent.

India VIX has surged by 0.29 per cent.

Nifty Media, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Pharma are among the top gainers whereas Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Bank and Nifty Metal are among the top gainers.

Reliance, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories and Cipla are among the top gainers while Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv and Hindalco are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1048 stocks are advancing as against to 792 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 8:20 AM: Stock futures were flat on Thursday night as investors awaited new inflation data for June. The focus is on the personal consumption expenditures price index, closely monitored by the Federal Reserve. Wall Street experienced a decline in the previous session, with the Dow falling nearly 0.7 per cent, ending a 13-day winning streak not seen since 1987. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite also finished about 0.6 per cent lower.

Oil prices surged on Thursday, with Brent crude surpassing USD 84 per barrel, its highest level since April. The rally was driven by supply constraints resulting from OPEC+ production cuts and growing optimism about Chinese demand and global economic recovery. Additionally, the Dollar index showed a 0.17 per cent increase in futures at 101.71, while the value of one dollar remained close to Rs 82.22.

On Friday, the GIFT Nifty shows a positive opening for the benchmark indices with a 50-point gain, while the futures stood at 19,809 points.
