Market Wrap: Frontline indices and Broader indices close on a higher note!

On July 25, foreign institutional investors (FII) bought shares worth Rs 1,088.76 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) sold shares worth Rs 333.70 crore.

Market Update at 3:50 PM: Sensex and Nifty close on higher note by 0.53 per cent and 0.5 per cent respectively.

Nifty Midcap closes higher by 0.44 per cent while Nifty Smallcap closes higher by 0.17 per cent.

India VIX has surged by 2.05 per cent.

Nifty Realty, Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty FMCG were among the top gainers whereas Nifty Auto and Nifty Financial services closed flat.

L&T, ITC and Britannia were among the top gainers while Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv and M&M were among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 924 stocks were advancing as against to 1019 stocks that were declining, thus indicating a negative sentiment in the broader market.

Market Update at 2:25 PM: Sensex and Nifty trade higher by 0.75 per cent and 0.68 per cent respectively.

Nifty Midcap trades higher by 0.59 per cent while Nifty Smallcap trades higher by 0.34 per cent.

India VIX has surged by 2.64 per cent.

Nifty Realty, Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty FMCG are among the top gainers whereas there are currently no major sectors underperforming.

L&T, ITC and Reliance are among the top gainers while SBI Life, M&M and Tech Mahindra are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1202 stocks are advancing as against to 762 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 11:40 AM: Sensex trades higher by 0.67 per cent while Nifty trades higher by 0.61 per cent.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap trade higher by 0.34 per cent and 0.29 per cent respectively.

India VIX has surged by 4.10 per cent.

Nifty Energy, Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty FMCG are among the top gainers whereas there are currently no major sectors underperforming.

L&T, Reliance and Adani Ports are among the top gainers while SBI Life, M&M and Cipla are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1333 stocks are advancing as against to 619 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 9:35 AM: Sensex and Nifty trade higher by 0.44 per cent and 0.38 per cent respectively.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap trade higher by 0.21 per cent and 0.04 per cent respectively.

India VIX has surged by 0.39 per cent.

Nifty Auto, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Energy are among the top gainers while Nifty Media and Nifty Financial services are among the top losers.

L&T, UPL and Tata Motors are among the top gainers while SBI Life, Apollo Hospitals and Hindalco are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1265 stocks are advancing as against to 576 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 8:05 AM: Investors are eagerly awaiting the Federal Reserve's interest rate policy decision, followed by Chair Jerome Powell's press conference scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. The market is strongly anticipating a 98 per cent chance of an interest rate hike, signifying a return to rate increases after none in the June meeting. On Tuesday night, S&P 500 futures remained mostly unchanged as investors analyzed corporate earnings from major tech companies and prepared for the upcoming interest rate decision. Nasdaq 100 futures slid 0.2 per cent, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures dropped by 0.1 per cent.

Oil prices surged to reach their highest levels in three months on Tuesday, driven by indications of reduced supplies and reassurances from Chinese authorities about supporting their economy. Brent futures rose significantly, reaching USD 83.78 per barrel. The Dollar index saw a modest increase of 0.07 per cent in futures at 101.42, while the value of one dollar remained around Rs 81.86.

On Wednesday, the GIFT Nifty suggests a neutral opening for the benchmark indices, with a slight increase of 12 points. The futures are currently positioned at 19,869 points.

Stocks that are banned for trading in the F&O segment on July 26, 2023, are Canara Bank, Delta Corp, Indiabulls Housing Finance, RBL Bank and SunTV.
