Market Wrap: Benchmark make new highs with Nifty Realty among the top gainers!
In the current trading session benchmark indices trade on a higher note with the Sensex trading moderately higher by 0.26 per cent, while Nifty surged by 0.22 per cent.
Market Update at 3:40 PM: On Thursday, Benchmark indices concluded trading day on a higher note as Sensex moderately gained by 0.27 per cent after making a new all-time high at 77,145.46 level, while Nifty gained by 0.33 per cent and made a record high at 23,481.05 level. Similarly, the Broader market also experienced gains as Nifty Midcap closed significantly higher by 0.79 per cent and made a record high of 54,753.20 level, while Nifty Smallcap soared by 0.67 per cent and reached its all-time high of 17,925.15 level.
Market volatility, as indicated by India VIX, has declined by 7.23 per cent and is trading around the level of 13 reflecting a decrease in market volatility.
Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty Realty, Nifty IT and Nifty Auto were among the top gainers, while Nifty Media, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Energy were among the top losers.
Shriram Finance, HDFC Life and Divi’s Laboratories were among the top gainers while on the other hand Hindustan Unilever, Axis Bank and Britannia were among the top losers.
About 1300 stocks were advancing as against to 832 that were declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

Pre-Market Update at 8:20 AM: The S&P 500 and Nasdaq marked record closing highs for the third consecutive day on Wednesday, as inflation data was milder than anticipated.
However, both indexes ended below their session peaks after the Federal Reserve indicated only one interest rate cut for the year. Previously, in March, the Fed had projected three quarter-point cuts. In its statement following the June 11-12 meeting, the U.S. central bank maintained the policy rate, as expected.
Meanwhile, U.S. 10-year Treasury yields fell by 23 basis points to 4.30 per cent, and 2-year bond yields decreased by 18 basis points to 4.74 per cent.
The GIFT Nifty indicates a positive start for the Indian Benchmark indices, with a slight gain of 0.03 per cent or 7 points. Nifty futures are currently trading near the 23,360 mark.

Oil prices declined in early trading on Wednesday as investors reacted to the U.S. Federal Reserve's decision to refrain from cutting interest rates in the near term. Additionally, abundant U.S. crude and fuel stocks put further pressure on the market.
Brent crude futures dropped 14 cents, or 0.17 per cent, to USD 82.46 per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures fell 16 cents, or 0.2 per cent, to USD 78.34 per barrel.
On June 12, 2024, foreign institutional investors (FII) bought shares worth Rs 426.63 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) purchased shares worth Rs 233.75 crore.
