Market Wrap: Benchmark indices make record highs with Nifty surging over the 23,800 mark!

On Wednesday, Benchmark indices concluded trading day on a positive note as Sensex significantly gained by 0.8 per cent and made a record high of 78,759.40 level, while Nifty surged by 0.64 per cent made an all-time high of 23,889.90 level.

Market Update at 3:45 PM: On Wednesday, Benchmark indices concluded trading day on a positive note as Sensex significantly gained by 0.8 per cent and made a record high of 78,759.40 level, while Nifty surged by 0.64 per cent and made an all-time high of 23,889.90 level. Whereas the Broader market experienced mixed performance as Nifty Midcap closed lower by 0.16 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap gained by 0.29 per cent.

Market volatility, as indicated by India VIX, has declined by 1.87 per cent and is trading around the level of 14 reflecting a slight decrease in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty Media, Nifty Energy and Nifty Bank were among the top gainers, while Nifty Metal, Nifty Realty and Nifty Auto were among the top losers.

Reliance, Bharti Airtel and Ultratech Cement were among the top gainers while on the other hand Apollo Hospitals, M&M and Bajaj Auto were among the top losers.

About 1060 stocks were advancing as against to 1235 that were declining, thus indicating a negative sentiment in the broader market.

Market Update at 2:15 PM: In the current trading session benchmark indices trade on a positive note with the Sensex trading higher by 0.8 per cent, while Nifty soared gained by 0.61 per cent. Similarly, in the broader indices Nifty Midcap has marginally gained by 0.03 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has surged by 0.19 per cent.

India VIX has declined by 0.63 per cent and is trading around the level of 14 indicating a slight decrease in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty Media, Nifty Energy and Nifty Bank are among the top gainers while Nifty Metal, Nifty Realty and Nifty Auto are among the major sectors which are underperforming.

Bharti Airtel, Reliance and Ultratech Cement are among the top gainers while Apollo Hospitals, Hindalco and Bajaj Auto are among the top losing stocks from the Nifty 50.

About 1198 stocks are advancing as against 1094 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 12:50 PM: In the current trading session benchmark indices trade on at their all-time high levels Sensex has significantly surged by 0.62 per cent, while Nifty has gained by 0.52 per cent. Similarly in the broader indices Nifty Midcap has slightly gained by 0.09 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has surged by 0.27 per cent.

India VIX is has marginally surged by 0.31 per cent and is trading around the mark of 14 indicating a slight increase in market volatility.

European stocks are expected to open higher on Wednesday, reversing negative sentiment seen in the previous trading session. European futures DAX, CAC and FTSE trade higher by 0.7 per cent, 0.71 per cent and 0.43 per cent respectively.

Within the sectoral landscape Nifty Media, Nifty Energy and Nifty FMCG are among the top gainers while Nifty Metal, Nifty Realty and Nifty Auto are among the top losers.

Ultratech Cement, Reliance and Bharti Airtel are among the top gainers within the Nifty 50 while, Hindalco, Apollo Hospitals and Bajaj Auto are among the top losers.

About 1265 stocks are advancing as against to 1024 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 11:15 AM: In the ongoing trading session, Benchmark indices are trading on a positive note with Sensex trading higher by 0.34 per cent and making a new record high 78,349.90 level, while Nifty gained by 0.24 per cent and reached its all-time high level of 23,791.70. Similarly in the broader indices Nifty Midcap experience marginal gains of 0.02 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has surged by 0.27 per cent.

India VIX is has declined by 0.91 per cent and is trading around the mark of 14, indicating a slight decrease in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty Media, Nifty Energy and Nifty FMCG are among the top gainers while Metal, Nifty Realty and Nifty Auto are among the top losers.

Top gainers in individual stocks are Ultratech Cement, Reliance and Shriram Finance whereas Bjaj Auto, Tata Steel and Apollo Hospitals are among the top losers in the Nifty 50.

The broader market sentiment is positive, with 1320 stocks advancing compared to 942 stocks declining.

 

Market Update at 9:40 AM: On Wednesday, Indian markets started the trading day on a mixed note with Nifty opening lower and Sensex marginally surging, similarly the broader indices followed the trend. Furthermore, Nifty Media was among the top gainers while Nifty Metal was the biggest loser.

Sensex is trading marginally higher by 0.04 per cent, while Nifty is trading slightly lower by 0.02 per cent.  Similarly, in the broader indices Nifty Midcap is trading lower by 0.07 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has gained by 0.12 per cent.

India VIX has slightly gained by 0.05 per cent and is trading above the mark of 14, indicating marginal increase in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape Nifty Media, Nifty Energy and Nifty IT were among the top gainers while Nifty Metal, Nifty Realty and Nifty Auto were the major sectors which are trading negatively.

Ultratech Cement, BPCL and Grasim Industries are among the top gainers within the Nifty 50 while Hindalco, M&M and Apollo Hospitals are among the top losers.

About 1093 stocks are advancing as against to 1099 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a neutral sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 8:15 AM: U.S indexes mostly rose on Tuesday, led by a rebound in Nvidia shares after a three-day slump. 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 299.05 points, or 0.76 per cent, to 39,112.16. The S&P 500 added 21.43 points, or 0.39 per cent, to reach 5,469.30, and the Nasdaq Composite surged 220.84 points, or 1.26 per cent, to close at 17,717.65.

Early Wednesday trading saw the US 10-year yield slightly down, while 2-year Treasury yields decreased by 73 basis points.

The GIFT Nifty indicates a positive start for the Indian Benchmark indices, with a slight gain of 0.09 per cent or 22 points. Nifty futures are currently trading near the 23,840 mark.

Oil prices declined in early Asian trading on Wednesday following an unexpected increase in U.S. stockpiles reported by an industry group, raising concerns about weaker-than-anticipated demand in the world's largest oil consumer.

Brent crude futures dropped 19 cents, or 0.2 per cent, to USD 84.82 per barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures decreased by 11 cents, or 0.1 per cent, to USD 80.72 per barrel.

On June 25, 2024, foreign institutional investors (FII) bought shares worth Rs 1,175.91 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) sold shares worth Rs 149.45 crore.

Stocks that are banned for trading in the F&O segment on June 26, 2024, are GNFC, INDUSTOWER, PNB and SAIL.
