Market Wrap: Benchmark indices make record highs with Nifty Financial Services among the top gainers!

On Tuesday, Benchmark indices concluded trading day on a positive note as Sensex significantly gained by 0.92 per cent and made a record high of 78,164.71 level, while Nifty surged by 0.6 per cent also made an all-time high of 23,710.45 level.

Market Update at 3:35 PM: On Tuesday, Benchmark indices concluded trading day on a positive note as Sensex significantly gained by 0.92 per cent and made a record high of 78,164.71 level, while Nifty surged by 0.78 per cent also made an all-time high of 23,754.15 level. Whereas the Broader market experienced mixed performance as Nifty Midcap closed lower by 0.48 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap gained by 0.28 per cent.

Market volatility, as indicated by India VIX, has surged by 1.49 per cent and is trading above the level of 14 reflecting an increase in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Bank and Nifty IT were among the top gainers, while Nifty Realty, Nifty Metal and Nifty Energy were among the top losers.

Shriram Finance, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank were among the top gainers while on the other hand BPCL, Eicher Motors and Power Grid Corporation were among the top losers.

About 994 stocks were advancing as against to 1281 that were declining, thus indicating a negative sentiment in the broader market.

Market Update at 2:25 PM: In the current trading session benchmark indices trade on a positive note with the Sensex trading higher by 0.79 per cent and making a new all-time high of 78,016.04 level, while Nifty soared gained by 0.63 per cent and makes a new record high of 23,710.45 level. Whereas, in the broader indices Nifty Midcap has declined by 0.43 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has gained by 0.26 per cent.

India VIX has surged by 2.06 per cent and is trading above the level of 14 indicating an increase in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Bank and Nifty IT are among the top gainers while Nifty Media, Nifty Metal and Nifty Energy are among the major sectors which are underperforming.

Axis Bank, Shriram Finance and HDFC Bank are among the top gainers while BPCL, Tata Steel and Eicher Motors are among the top losing stocks from the Nifty 50.

About 1049 stocks are advancing as against 1226 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a negative sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 12:40 PM: In the current trading session benchmark indices trade on a positive note as Sensex has moderately surged by 0.6 per cent, while Nifty has gained by 0.47 per cent. Whereas in the broader indices Nifty Midcap has declined by 0.3 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has soared by 0.45 per cent.

India VIX is has marginally surged by 0.48 per cent and is trading around the mark of 14 indicating a slight increase in market volatility.

European stocks are seen opening broadly lower on Tuesday with investor focus likely to be on the regional policies. European futures DAX, CAC and FTSE trade lower by 0.83 per cent, 0.48 per cent and 0.16 per cent respectively.

Within the sectoral landscape Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Bank and Nifty IT are among the top gainers while Nifty Realty, Nifty Energy and Nifty Metal are among the top losers.

Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank are among the top gainers within the Nifty 50 while, BPCL, Coal India and ONGC are among the top losers.

About 1141 stocks are advancing as against to 1123 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 11:10 AM: In the ongoing trading session, Benchmark indices are trading on a positive note with Sensex trading higher by 0.27 per cent, while Nifty gained by 0.2 per cent. Whereas in the broader indices Nifty Midcap experience marginal losses of 0.09 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has surged by 0.72 per cent.

India VIX is has surged by 0.23 per cent and is trading above the mark of 14, indicating a slight increase in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty Bank, Nifty Financial Services and Nifty Media are among the top gainers while Nifty Realty, Nifty Energy and Nifty Metal are among the top losers.

Top gainers in individual stocks are Ultratech Cement, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank whereas SBI Life, BPCL and Adani Ports are among the top losers in the Nifty 50.

The broader market sentiment is positive, with 1354 stocks advancing compared to 898 stocks declining.

 

Market Update at 9:40 AM: On Tuesday, Indian markets started the trading day on a positive note with Nifty and Sensex surging. Whereas, in the broader indices Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 made a new record highs. Furthermore, Nifty PSU Bank was among the top gainers while Nifty Realty was the biggest loser.

Sensex is trading moderately higher by 0.27 per cent, while Nifty is also trading higher by 0.23 per cent.  Similarly, in the broader indices Nifty Midcap is trading higher by 0.4 per cent making a record high of 55,922.95 level, while Nifty Smallcap has soared by 1.05 per cent and has made a new all-time high of 18,437.65 level.

India VIX has slightly surged by 0.1 per cent and is trading above the mark of 14, indicating marginal increase in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape Nifty Auto, Nifty Media and Nifty PSU Bank were among the top gainers while Nifty Realty, Nifty FMCG and Nifty IT were the major sectors which are trading negatively.

Ultratech Cement, Hindalco Industries and M&M are among the top gainers within the Nifty 50 while HCL Technologies, Shriram Finance and Grasim are among the top losers.

About 1597 stocks are advancing as against to 574 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 8:20 AM: U.S. stock indexes showed mixed results on Monday as investors awaited a crucial U.S. inflation report expected later this week.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average reached a one-month high, climbing 260.88 points, or 0.67 per cent, to 39,411.21. Conversely, the Nasdaq dropped more than 1 per cent, losing 192.54 points, or 1.09 per cent, to close at 17,496.82. The S&P 500 also declined, shedding 16.75 points, or 0.31 per cent, to finish at 5,447.87.

U.S. 10-year and 2-year Treasury yields remained flat in early Tuesday trading.

The GIFT Nifty indicates a negative start for the Indian Benchmark indices, with a slight decline of 0.07 per cent or 17 points. Nifty futures are currently trading near the 23,685 mark.

On Tuesday, oil prices remained largely unchanged as concerns over China's economic recovery prospects balanced out supply worries stemming from tensions in the Middle East and Ukrainian strikes on Russian refineries.

Brent futures for August delivery inched up by 7 cents, or 0.08 per cent, to USD 86.06 per barrel, ahead of the contract's expiration later this week. The more actively traded September contract edged up by 8 cents, or 0.09 per cent, to USD 85.23.

On June 24, 2024, foreign institutional investors (FII) offloaded shares worth Rs 653.97 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) sold shares worth Rs 820.47 crore.

Stocks that are banned for trading in the F&O segment on June 25, 2024, are BALRAMCHIN, CHAMBLFERT, GNFC, GRANULES, INDUSTOWER, PEL, PNB and SAIL.
