Market Wrap: Benchmark indices conclude the day with notable gains!

Benchmark indices concluded on a higher note, as both Sensex and Nifty have closed with notable gains, rising by 0.58 per cent and 0.59 per cent, respectively.

Furthermore, the Nifty Midcap has seen a substantial increase of 0.77 per cent, and the Nifty Smallcap has also ended higher, up by 0.47 per cent.

Market volatility, as indicated by the India VIX, has surged by 1.78 per cent.

Top performers in the market include Nifty Realty, Nifty PSU Bank, and Nifty Media, while Nifty FMCG, Nifty Pharma, and Nifty Metal have experienced losses.

Within the Nifty 50, standout gainers include Coal India, L&T, and Indusind Bank, while Tata Consumer Product, Britannia, and Sun Pharma are among the top decliners.

Overall, the broader market sentiment appears positive, with 1223 stocks advancing and 779 stocks declining.

Market Update at 2:05 PM: In the current trading session, both the Sensex and Nifty have recorded slight gains, with increases of 0.21 per cent and 0.22 per cent, respectively. Notably, the Nifty Midcap has performed well, showing a 0.66 per cent gain, while the Nifty Smallcap has seen substantial growth, up by 0.5 per cent.

Market volatility, as indicated by the India VIX, has increased by 0.84 per cent, suggesting a slight uptick in market uncertainty.

Leading the gainers are Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Realty, and Nifty Energy, while Nifty FMCG, Nifty Pharma, and Nifty Metal are among the top losers.

In individual stock performance within the Nifty 50, notable gainers include Coal India, L&T, and SBI Life, whereas Tata Consumer Product, Britannia, and Divi’s Laboratories are among the top decliners.

In terms of market sentiment, approximately 1218 stocks are advancing, surpassing the 781 stocks that are declining, indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 12:40 PM: In the current trading session, both the Sensex and Nifty are maintaining stability, trading on a flat note. However, the Nifty Midcap has gained 0.4 per cent, and the Nifty Smallcap has also risen by 0.39 per cent.

On the global front, European markets are expected to open lower, with investors keeping an eye on economic data, including eurozone GDP figures and employment rates. European futures DAX, FTSE and CAC trade lower by 0.48 per cent 0.42 per cent and 0.35 per cent respectively.

Market volatility, as measured by the India VIX, has increased by 0.37 per cent.

Notably, the Nifty Midcap has performed well, showing a 0.45 per cent gain, while the Nifty Smallcap has seen substantial growth, up by 0.74 per cent.

Market volatility, as indicated by the India VIX, has risen by 1.12 per cent.

Leading the gainers are Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Realty, and Nifty Bank, while Nifty FMCG, Nifty Pharma, and Nifty Metal are among the top losers.

Individual stock performance within the Nifty 50 reveals that Coal India, L&T, and Tech Mahindra are the top gainers, whereas Tata Consumer Product, Britannia, and Cipla are among the top decliners.

In terms of market sentiment, approximately 1320 stocks are advancing, surpassing the 649 stocks that are declining, indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 9:35 AM: In the latest market update, both the Sensex and Nifty have opened down by 0.28 per cent and 0.29 per cent, respectively. However, there's a contrasting trend in the broader market as the Nifty Midcap has opened higher by 0.34 per cent, and the Nifty Smallcap is also showing strength with a 0.37 per cent gain.

India VIX has declined by 0.37 per cent, indicating reduced market volatility.

Among sectors, Nifty Realty, Nifty PSU Bank, and Nifty Media are among the top gainers, while Nifty Metal, Nifty IT, and Nifty FMCG are experiencing gains.

Individual stock movements within the Nifty 50 show Jio Financial Services, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, and Coal India as the top gainers, whereas Tata Consumer Product, LTIMindtree, and Bajaj Finance are among the top decliners.

In terms of market sentiment, approximately 1175 stocks are advancing, significantly outnumbering the 665 stocks that are declining, indicating a positive sentiment prevailing in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 7:50 AM: Late on Wednesday, stock futures remained relatively stable, with concerns arising on Wall Street regarding the Federal Reserve's stance on interest rates and the possibility of another rate hike this year. Futures linked to the Dow Jones Industrial Average showed a slight decline of 0.08 per cent. S&P 500 futures also experienced a marginal drop of 0.07 per cent, while Nasdaq futures declined by 0.1 per cent. During regular trading hours, technology stocks underperformed, leading to a 1.1 per cent decrease in the Nasdaq Composite, which marked its third consecutive session of losses.

Oil prices shifted direction on Wednesday, retracting some of the gains made in the previous session, partly due to a stronger dollar. Investors appeared to be less concerned about supply disruptions stemming from Saudi Arabia and Russia. Brent crude futures dipped by 39 cents to reach USD 89.65 per barrel. Concurrently, the Dollar index exhibited a minor decrease of 0.06 per cent in futures trading, settling at 103.32. Meanwhile, the exchange rate for one US dollar hovered around Rs 83.09.

The GIFT Nifty suggests a slightly bearish opening for the Benchmark indices, showing a decline of 38 points. GIFT Nifty futures reached 19,625 points, following a peak at 19,720 points.

On September 6, foreign institutional investors (FII) offloaded shares worth Rs 3,245.86 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) sold shares worth Rs 247.46 crore.

Stocks that are banned for trading in the F&O segment on September 07, 2023, are Balrampur Chini Mills, BHEL, Delta Corp, Hind Copper, Indiabulls Housing Finance, India Cements, Mannapuram and SAIL.
