Market wrap: Benchmark indices close on a positive note after making new all-time highs!

On June 26, foreign institutional investors (FII) bought shares amounting to Rs 2,024.05 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) offloaded shares worth Rs 1991.35 crore.

Market Update at 3:35 PM: Sensex closes higher by 0.79 per cent above 63,900 level while Nifty closes higher by 0.82 per cent above 18,900 level.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap closes higher by 0.63 per cent and 0.35 per cent respectively.

India VIX has surged 0.93 by per cent.

Nifty Pharma, Nifty Metal and Nifty Energy were among the top gainers while Nifty media was the top losing sector.

Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports and JSW Steel were among the top gainers while HDFC Life, Hero Motocorp and Tech Mahindra were among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

Market Update at 2:25 PM: Sensex trades higher by 0.97 per cent while Nifty trades higher by 0.99 per cent.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap trade higher by 0.42 per cent and 0.36 per cent respectively.

India VIX has surged 5.29 by per cent.

Nifty Metal, Nifty Energy and Nifty Pharma are among the top gainers while Nifty Media and Nifty Realty are among the top losers!

Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports and JSW Steel are among the top gainers while HDFC Life, Hero Motocorp and Wipro are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1053 stocks are advancing as against to 895 stocks that are declining. Thus, indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 12:00 PM: Sensex surges by 0.8 per cent above 63,900 level while Nifty surges by 0.82 per cent above 18,900 level.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap have surged by 0.39 per cent and 0.46 per cent respectively.

India VIX has surged by 4.17 per cent.

Nifty Metal, Nifty Energy and Nifty Pharma are among the top gainers while Nifty Media is among the top losers!

Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports and JSW Steel are among the top gainers while HDFC Life, Hero Motocorp and Apollo Hospitals are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1216 stocks are advancing as against to 709 stocks that are declining. Thus, indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 9:30 AM: Sensex trades higher by 0.25 per cent while Nifty opens higher by 0.26 per cent.

Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap open higher by 0.39 per cent and 0.63 per cent.

India VIX has surged by 0.37 per cent.

Nifty Metal, Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Auto are among the top gainers while there are no other sectors which are underperforming as of now.

Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports and Grasim are among the top gainers while HDFC Life, Power Grid and Tech Mahindra are among the top losers from the Nifty 50.

About 1179 stocks are advancing as against to 734 stocks that are declining. Thus, indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 8:30 AM: S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures dipped 0.19 per cent and 0.39 per cent respectively, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures remained stable. The Dow Jones broke its losing streak, ending 0.63 per cent higher, whereas the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite surged over 1 per cent each, led by a tech stock rebound from last week's decline.

Oil prices fell over 2 per cent on Tuesday amid concerns about potential interest rate hikes. Investors awaited data on US fuel consumption during the summer driving season. Brent crude futures settled at $72.26 per barrel, down $1.92. The Dollar index traded slightly higher at 102.53, while the value of one dollar hovered around Rs 81.99.

On Wednesday, it is expected that the market will open slightly higher based on the indication of the SGX Nifty, which shows a positive start for the benchmark indices. The SGX Nifty has gained 60 points since the opening of the session at 18,881 points. In early trade on June 27, SGX futures reached a high of 18,888 points.

Stocks that banned for trading in the F&O segment on June 28, 2023, are L&T Housing Finance and Manappuram.
