Pre-Market Update at 8:30 AM: Wall Street shares retreated from record highs reached early Thursday, influenced by rallying overseas markets and rising Treasury yields, which shrugged off weak U.S. data in anticipation of new supply next week.
The Dow Jones rose by 0.77 per cent to close at 39,134.96, while the S&P 500 slipped by 0.25 per cent to 5,473.22. The Nasdaq Composite fell by 0.79 per cent to end at 17,721.59.
In early Friday trading, the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield climbed 26 basis points to 4.26 per cent, and the 2-year Treasury yield increased by 13 basis points to 4.74 per cent.

Oil prices steadied on Friday after reaching seven-week highs earlier in the week.
