Pre-Market Update at 8:00 AM: On Thursday night, Nasdaq 100 futures showed a slight increase as investors analyzed earnings reports from prominent technology companies ahead of a significant employment report scheduled for Friday morning. Futures connected to the technology-focused index rose by approximately 0.2 per cent, alongside a similar gain in S&P 500 futures. Meanwhile, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures also climbed, registering a 0.07 per cent increase.
Oil prices surged by approximately 2 per cent on Thursday, boosted by actions from Saudi Arabia and Russia to maintain limited supplies through September and potentially beyond. Brent futures climbed by 2.3 per cent, settling at USD 85.14 per barrel. Meanwhile, the Dollar index experienced a slight dip of 0.02 per cent in futures trading, reaching 102.55, while the value of one dollar remained close to Rs 82.85.
The GIFT Nifty futures are signaling a slightly positive opening for the benchmark indices, with an increase of 33 points. This comes after Nifty experienced a decline of 144 points, closing at 19,381 points on August 3. The GIFT Nifty futures are currently at 19,489 points.
