Market Wrap: Benchmark close higher while Broader indices record new highs!

On Friday, Benchmark indices concluded trading day on a higher note as Sensex moderately gained by 0.24 per cent closing at 77,992.78 level, while Nifty gained by 0.29 per cent and closed at 23,465.60 level.

Market Update at 4:05 PM: On Friday, Benchmark indices concluded trading day on a higher note as Sensex moderately gained by 0.24 per cent closing at 77,992.78 level, while Nifty gained by 0.29 per cent and closed at 23,465.60 level. Similarly, the Broader market also experienced substantial gains as Nifty Midcap closed significantly higher by 1.05 per cent and made a record high of 55,270.95 level, while Nifty Smallcap soared by 0.76 per cent and reached its all-time high of 18,043.60 level.

Market volatility, as indicated by India VIX, has declined by 4.93 per cent and is trading around the level of 12 reflecting a decrease in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty Auto, Nifty Realty and Nifty Metal were among the top gainers, while Nifty IT and Nifty Media were among the top losers.

Eicher Motors, M&M and Adani Ports were among the top gainers while on the other hand Tech Mahindra, TCS and Wipro were among the top losers.

About 1263 stocks were advancing as against to 872 that were declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

Market Update at 2:10 PM: In the current trading session benchmark indices trade on a higher note with the Sensex trading higher by 0.14 per cent, while Nifty surged by 0.19 per cent. Similarly, in the broader indices Nifty Midcap has surged by 0.84 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has soared by 0.83 per cent.

India VIX is currently trading lower by 5.6 per cent and is trading around the level of 12 indicating decreased market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty Auto, Nifty Metal, Nifty Realty and Nifty PSU Bank among the top gainers while Nifty IT and Nifty Media are among the major sectors which are underperforming.

M&M, Adani Ports and Shriram Finance are among the top gainers while TCS, Tech Mahindra and Wipro are among the top losing stocks from the Nifty 50.

About 1310 stocks are advancing as against 827 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 12:35 PM: In the current trading session benchmark indices trade on a positive note as Sensex has moderately gained by 0.11 per cent, while Nifty has surged by 0.15 per cent. Similarly, in the broader indices Nifty Midcap has soared by 0.72 per cent, while Nifty Smallcap has gained by 0.92 per cent.

India VIX is trading slightly lower by 5.04 per cent around the mark of 12 indicating decreased market volatility.

European stocks are poised to rebound into positive territory on Friday, concluding a turbulent week filled with a plethora of new information for investors to digest. European futures DAX and FTSE trade higher by 0.15 per cent and 0.38 per cent respectively, while CAC trades lower by 0.13 per cent.

Within the sectoral landscape Nifty Auto, Nifty Metal, Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Realty were among the top gainers while Nifty IT and Nifty Media were among the top losers.

M&M, Adani Ports and Shriram Finance are among the top gainers within the Nifty 50 while, Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies and TCS are among the top losers.

About 1370 stocks are advancing as against to 760 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Market Update at 11:10 AM: In the ongoing trading session, Benchmark indices are trading on a higher note with Sensex trading higher by 0.13 per cent, while Nifty gained by 0.2 per cent. Similarly, in the broader indices Nifty Midcap experience significant gains of 0.59 per cent making new all-time high of 55,022.55 level, while Nifty Smallcap has surged by 0.81 per cent and recorded a new all-time high of 18,058.60 level.

India VIX is has declined by 3.65 per cent and is trading around the mark of 13, indicating decreased market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape, Nifty Metal, Nifty Realty, Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Financial Services are among the top gainers while Nifty IT and Nifty Media are among the top losers.

Top gainers in individual stocks are Adani Ports, Shriram Finance and Grasim whereas HCL Technologies, TCS and Wipro are among the top losers in the Nifty 50.

The broader market sentiment is positive, with 1448 stocks advancing compared to 675 stocks declining.

 

Market Update at 9:35 AM: On Friday, Indian markets started the last trading day of the week on a negative note with the Sensex and Nifty moderately declining, while the broader indices outperformed the Benchmark indices and recorded fresh highs. Furthermore, Nifty Realty was among the top gainers while Nifty IT was the biggest loser.

Sensex is trading moderately lower by 0.25 per cent, while Nifty is also trading lower by 0.21 per cent.  Similarly, in the broader indices Nifty Midcap opened higher with a gain of 0.18 per cent and recorded a new high of 54,878.55 level, while Nifty Smallcap has also soared by 0.17 per cent, making a new all-time high of 17,997.90 level.

India VIX has slightly declined by 2.71 per cent and is trading around the mark of 13, indicating slight decrease in market volatility.

Within the sectoral landscape Nifty Realty, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Pharma were among the top gainers while Nifty IT, Nifty Energy and Nifty Media were among the major losers.

Grasim, Shriram Finance and Eicher Motors are among the top gainers within the Nifty 50 while, Tech Mahindra, JSW Steel and NTPC are among the top losers.

About 1197 stocks are advancing as against to 825 stocks that are declining, thus indicating a positive sentiment in the broader market.

 

Pre-Market Update at 8:10 AM: The S&P 500 and Nasdaq achieved record closing highs for the fourth consecutive session on Thursday, driven by a continued rally in technology stocks.

Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 65.11 points, or 0.17 per cent, closing at 38,647.1. The S&P 500 increased by 12.71 points, or 0.23 per cent, to finish at 5,433.74, and the Nasdaq Composite climbed by 59.12 points, or 0.34 per cent, reaching 17,667.56.

The US 10-year Treasury yields rose by 32 basis points to 4.25 per cent, and the US 2-year bond yields were up by 31 basis points to 4.71 per cent.

The GIFT Nifty indicates a slightly negative start for the Indian Benchmark indices, with a slight decline of 0.01 per cent or 2.5 points. Nifty futures are currently trading near the 23,397 mark.

Oil prices declined on Friday but remained poised for their first weekly gain in four weeks, as markets weighed the implications of sustained higher U.S. interest rates against a strong outlook for crude and fuel demand this year.

Brent crude futures fell by 72 cents, or 0.87 per cent, to USD 82.04 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures dropped 79 cents, or 1 per cent, to USD 77.84 a barrel, reversing modest gains from the previous session.

On June 13, 2024, foreign institutional investors (FII) offloaded shares worth Rs 3,033 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) sold shares worth Rs 553.88 crore.

Stocks that are banned for trading in the F&O segment on June 14, 2024, are GMRINFRA, HINDCOPPER, INDIACEM, SAIL and SUNTV.
