Market Movers: Edelweiss Financial, Prakash Industries and Tamil Nadu Petroproducts top Group A

Among sectoral indices, Telecom, FMCG, Infrastructure emerged as the day’s gainers while Pharma and PSU Banks ended in red.

In today’s session of weekly expiry, markets closed with mixed signals. Benchmark indices S&P BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 closed down by 0.2 per cent at 58568.51 and 17464.75, respectively. 

The Midcap segment closed on a positive note gaining 0.3 per cent at 24107.97 while Smallcap index closed with a gain of 0.31 per cent at 28215.65.

Among sectoral indices, Telecom, FMCG, Infrastructure emerged as the day’s gainers while Pharma and PSU Banks ended in red. 

Edelweiss Financial Services, Prakash Industries and Tamil Nadu Petroproducts witnessed positive action in today’s session. 

  Edelweiss Financial Services zoomed 16.19 per cent in today’s session to emerge as the biggest gainer in the ‘A‘ Group. Today, the stock logged an intraday high and low of Rs 60.65 and Rs 50.10, respectively and closed at Rs 58.7. The stock has been an underperformer, shedding 6.08 per cent in one month and 28 per cent in three months. In today’s session, the stock tested its 52-week low at Rs 50.10, from where it rebounded to rally 21.06 per cent and emerge the biggest gainer in the 'A' group.

Prakash Industries rallied 12.77 per cent in today’s session and closed at Rs 76.30. The company is engaged in the business of manufacturing and sale of steel products and the generation of Power. Today, the stock logged an intraday high and low of Rs 77.15 and Rs 68.35, respectively 

Tamil Nadu Petroproducts soared 12.44 per cent in today’s session. The petrochemical producing company is jointly promoted by Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation Limited (SPIC) and Tamil Nādu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO). The stock logged its intra-day high and low at Rs 115.40 and 102.75, respectively, closing at Rs 114.30.
