Market Movers: Companies showing strength despite weakness in the market

The Indian equity market is joining the global sell-off in equity. There is a confluence of factors that are acting against the equity market. 

First is returning of the US Fed towards normalization of the monetary policy as the economy there is showing strength. Second, inflation is again surging its head, which needs to be addressed by hiking interest rates. Any increase in interest rate, in general, is negative for the equity market as it increases the discounting factor and hence lowers the equity value. 

If these were not enough, the tension in Ukraine between US and Russia could spill out and can create another geopolitical risk. All these are being priced in the current fall in the equity market. 

Nevertheless, some companies are bucking this trend and are witnessing a surge in their share price.
