Market Movers: Amid market weakness, these stocks emerged as days gainers

Vardhman Textiles, CSB Bank and Ratnamani Metal Tubes top Group A.

Global cues and the worrisome state of inflation affected the market sentiment which traded in red in today’s session. Sectoral indices also witnessed profit booking with Realty and Metals being the biggest losers. 

At the closing bell on May 6, the Sensex gave up 867 points or 1.6 per cent to close at 54,835.58, while the Nifty index lost 271 points or 1.6 per cent to settle at 16,411.25. 

 Vardhman Textiles, CSB Bank and Ratnamani Metal witnessed positive action in today’s session.  

Vardhaman Textiles zoomed 8.26 per cent in a relatively weak session to emerge as the biggest gainer in Group A. The shares hit intraday high and low at Rs 402.70 and Rs 335, respectively and closed at Rs 385.30. Vardhman Textiles, the flagship company of the Vardhman Group, is among the leading textile conglomerates in the country. 

CSB Bank showed a strong rally of 7.60 at the closing bells on the back of strong results for the quarter and year ended on March 31, 2022 and closed at Rs 223.05. The share hit intraday high and low at Rs 235.25and Rs 202.30, respectively. Net Profit more than doubled from Rs 218.40 crore in FY 21 to Rs 458.49 crore in FY 22. Q4 FY 22 net profit was at Rs 130.67 Crore as against Rs 42.89 Crore in Q4 FY 21 showing a growth of 205 per cent. Total Deposits grew by 5.50 per cent YoY and CASA ratio stood at 33.66 per cent as of 31.03.22 as against 32.19 per cent as of 31.03.2021. Advances (Net) grew by 10 per cent YoY to Rs 15815 crore as of 31.03.2022.GNPA and Net NPA stood at 1.81 per cent and 0.68 per cent as of 31.03.2022. 

Ratnamani Metal Tubes witnessed a spike at the closing bell and gained 8.74 per cent in today’s session and closed at Rs 2258.70. The stock logged its intraday high and low in today’s session at Rs 2361.90 and Rs 2110.05, respectively. The company informed in a press release that it has received new domestic orders aggregating to Rs 206 crore, to be executed within the Financial Year 2022-23.
