Your cover story on gold was really very deep and knowledgeable. If I want to add gold to my portfolio how much should it be and should physical gold in the form of jewellery be accounted for? - Varsha Khatwani

Editor Responds : Gold is something that helps you in diversifying your portfolio as it has none to negative correlation. However, going overboard on gold is also a bad choice. Hence, gold should not form more than 10-15 per cent of your overall portfolio. Gold, particularly in jewellery form, is not an efficient way to invest and hence should not be considered as your investment. It would count as a luxurious holding in your accounts.
