Kings Infra Ventures soars 20 per cent on launching proof of concept for precision aquaculture
Kings Infra Ventures Limited and NEC Corporation Japan achieved a remarkable landmark in precision aquaculture when the proof of concept (PoC) project was launched on May 3, 2021.
The PoC is a joint initiative by NEC Corporation and Kings Infra Ventures Limited with the objective of utilising information & communication technologies (ICT) such as the internet of things (loT), networking, sensors technology and artificial intelligence (Al) to improve the farming key performance indicators (KPIs) such as density, survivability, and feed conversion ratio (FCR), which will aid in creating optimum growth conditions for shrimps. The successful completion of the PoC has the potential to enhance the aquaculture technology globally by a multifold increase in growing densities coupled with the increase in predictability & traceability.
The company has been the pioneers in the field of aquaculture, with the first semi-intensive integrated aquaculture project in the country being introduced in Tuticorin (Tamil Nadu) in the year 1987, adapting Japanese technology to Indian conditions. By 1991, the company had established the record for the highest production per hectare, coupled with the highest productivity in Asia of shrimp farming in the semi-intensive system of culture thereby, proving its potential.
At the close of the market on Monday, the shares of the company hit the upper circuit of 20 per cent and closed on upper circuit at Rs 30.20 on BSE.
