Jet Airways hires 12 Boeing 737 MAX8 aircraft
Leading premier airline operator Jet Airways has leased 12 Boeing 737 MAX8 from GECAS to expand its fleet.
The airline has obtained lease of six MAX aircraft from GE Capital Aviation Services's (GECAS) skyline order and six aircraft are on sale and leased back mode from Jet's order book. The deliveries start from June 2018 onwards. The aircrafts are powered by CFM-LEAP-1B27 engines.
GECAS is the largest aircraft leasing and financing company. Jet Airways aims to add 150 MAX8 aircraft to its fleet. These aircrafts are fuel efficient and provide superior passenger experience. Jet Airways Group currently operates a fleet of 120 aircraft which are deployed for domestic and overseas flight operations.
Last week, the airline had entered into an agreement with Boeing to purchase 75 MAX aircrafts.
Meanwhile, on Thursday at 10:38, the stock of Jet Airways was quoting Rs. 616.75 per share, up marginally by 0.12 per cent, while the benchmark index BSE Sensex was at 34,018.25, up by 77.81 points or 0.23 per cent.
