Investors should keep an eye on these upcoming corporate actions in January

A purchasing movement was seen in the metals, IT and 11 of the 15 Nifty sectors indices, which all closed in the green.

The S&P BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 Indian leading indices started the week strongly, snapping a three-day losing run. The broader market Nifty50 closed at 17,956.60, up 98.40 points or 0.55 percent, while the Sensex ended at 60,261.18, up 303 points or 0.51 percent. Nifty Bank, a banking index, closed at 42,371.25, up 289 points or 0.69 percent.  

  

A purchasing movement was seen in the metals, IT and 11 of the 15 Nifty sectors indices, which all closed in the green. Nifty PSU Bank (+1.35 per cent), Nifty Metal (+1.27 per cent) and Nifty IT (+0.74 per cent) were the three best-performing indices. Nifty Consumer Durables had the worst performances (-1.03 per cent). Both the Nifty Pharma and Nifty FMCG sectors experienced slight declines.
