HFCL announces launch of Open WiFi compliant access points
The leading Indian WiFi brand, Input-Output (IO) by HFCL Limited announced the launch of its Telecom Infra Project (TIP) Open WiFi compliant access points for PM-WANI deployments.
TIP is a global community of companies & organisations that play a major role in driving infrastructure solutions to advance global connectivity. The TIP Open WiFi platform will ensure plug & play interoperability across multiple vendors thus, resulting in a quicker roll-out of features. The company has been working closely with TIP to develop cost effective open-source powered access points and wireless controllers to extend its reach as well as accelerate the growth of high-speed broadband services across the world.
PM–WANI is the Government of India’s public WiFi project (focussed on deploying millions of WiFi hotspots), which will ensure affordable high-speed internet to everyone in the country. For this vision, it is also collaborating with a few leading core solutions providers to offer IO TIP OpenWiFi compliant access points (APs).
The company strongly believes that using TIP Open WiFi, coupled with the vision of GoI’s BharatNet initiative would surely augment broadband uptake in every part of India.
Today, the stock market is closed on the occasion of Id-Ul-Fitr (Ramzan Eid). On Wednesday, the stock price of HFCL Ltd ended down by 3.10 per cent at a price of Rs 35.90 on BSE.
