Following a positive opening, headline indices trade in green

The Nifty 50 index saw high volatility yesterday wavering over 305 points before finishing lower by 114 points. The US markets also had a volatile day with losses as markets corrected to new sanctions on Russia and oil prices reaching a 7-year high. The US 10-year bond yields climb to 1.86 per cent.

Asian markets today opened positively led by the South Korea and Taiwan markets which had a hard day yesterday. Indian indices opened higher and are trading with small gains after yesterday's sell-off. The Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) outflow was seen worth Rs 3,245.52 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs), were net buyers of Rs 4,108.58 crore in the Indian equity market on 22 February. 

The BSE Sensex is up 274 points or 0.48 per cent to 57,574.68. The BSE Smallcap has jumped 448 points and is trading at 27,145.78. The Midcap has also surged by 284 points and is trading at 23,701.28 levels. Stocks trading in the green on the BSE Sensex are Kotak Bank, Titan, Asian Paints, and Induslnd Bank. 

The Nifty 50 index is trading at 17,167 levels gaining 75 points today morning. Bank Nifty increased by 294 points and is trading at 37,665.80 levels. The gainers on Nifty 50 are Titan, Asian Paints, Kotak Bank, and Adani Ports. 

Out of 2,934 stocks traded, the numbers of stocks advanced are 2239 and 605 stocks that have declined in the morning session. Today 152 stocks are locked up in the upper circuit and 220 stocks are locked in the lower circuit today. There are 46 stocks that are trading at a 52-week high and 26 stocks are trading at a 52-week low.
