Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Monday's trading session kicked off on a flat note. At 11.31 am, both Sensex, as well as Nifty, were spotted in the negative territory at 56,994.76 and 17,045.45 levels, plunging 0.64 per cent & 0.63 per cent, respectively.
Bharti Airtel, ITC, and IndusInd Bank emerged as the top gainers of today's session, which advanced 1.21 per cent, 0.36 per cent & 0.30 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, HDFC, Nestle, and Dr Reddy's Laboratories turned out to be the top losers, which slipped 2.35 per cent, 2.13 per cent & 1.97 per cent, respectively.
