Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The domestic benchmark indices opened Thursday's trading session on a higher note. At 11.29 am, Sensex was seen trading at 57,815.91 level, soaring 1.76 per cent while Nifty jumped 1.74 per cent to be at 17,269.90 level.
The top gainers of the day include Titan, HDFC, and Kotak Mahindra Bank, which surged 4.48 per cent, 4.29 per cent & 3.39 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, HCL Technologies and Power Grid Corporation turned out to be the top losers, which plunged 0.52 per cent & 0.05 per cent, respectively.
