Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The domestic benchmark indices opened Wednesday's trading session on a higher note amid positive global cues. At 11.51 am, Sensex was seen trading at 56,651.97 level, soaring 1.57 per cent while Nifty jumped 1.53 per cent to be at 16,917.75 level.
The top gainers of the day include IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, and UltraTech Cement, which surged 3.44 per cent, 3.41 per cent & 3.04 per cent, respectively.
