Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex and Nifty opened Monday's trading session on a weak note. At 11.27 am, Sensex was spotted at 57,715.41 level, down by 0.20 per cent while Nifty slipped 0.26 per cent to be at 17,231.85 level.
The top gainers of the day included Power Grid, Maruti, and IndusInd Bank, which inched higher by 1.07 per cent, 1.04 per cent & 0.96 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Titan, TCS, and Sun Pharma turned out to be the top losers of the day, which tumbled 1.79 per cent, 1.76 per cent & 1.14 per cent, respectively.
