Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex, as well as Nifty, opened Wednesday's trading session in the green zone but at 11.38 am, Sensex drifted towards the negative territory, inching lower by 0.37 per cent at 57,926.74 level. However, Nifty was spotted in green, climbing 0.32 per cent to be at 17,408.45 level.
The top three gainers of the day are M&M, HDFC, and Dr Reddy's Laboratories, which soared 1.68 per cent, 1.42 per cent & 0.94 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, and L&T turned out to be the top three losers, which tanked 1.59 per cent, 1.43 per cent & 1.39 per cent, respectively.
