Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The domestic benchmark indices opened Monday's trading session on a weak note. At 11.29 am, both Sensex, as well as Nifty, were spotted in the red zone, plunging 2.03 per cent & 1.98 per cent to be at 56,974.36 and 17,030.05 levels, respectively.
TCS and Sun Pharma emerged as the top two gainers today, which surged 1.71 per cent & 0.44 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, HDFC, State Bank of India, and ICICI Bank turned out to be the top three losers today, which tumbled 4.12 per cent, 3.59 per cent & 3.55 per cent, respectively.
