Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The domestic benchmark indices opened Friday's trading session on a weak note. At 11.42 am, both Sensex, as well as Nifty, slumped 1.56 per cent & 1.71 per cent to be at 58,009.36 and 17,305.65 levels, respectively.
Infosys, Tech Mahindra, and L&T emerged as the top three losers of the day, which tumbled 2.97 per cent, 2.56 per cent & 2.50 per cent, respectively.
