Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex and Nifty opened the last trading session of the week on a positive note. At 11.46 am, Sensex was trading at 57,974.67 levels, up by 1.22 per cent while Nifty inched higher by 0.57 per cent to be at 17,208.30 levels.
NTPC, M&M, and Wipro emerged as the top three gainers of today's session, which surged 4.93 per cent, 3.40 per cent & 3.36 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Maruti & Power Grid turned out to be the top two losers, which plunged 1.65 per cent & 0.35 per cent, respectively.
