Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex and Nifty opened Monday's trading session on a weak note. At 11.01 am, Sensex was seen trading at 58,404.94 levels, down by 1.07 per cent while Nifty inched lower by 1.24 per cent to be at 17,398.80 levels.
The top three gainers of today's session include Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, and IndusInd Bank, which advanced by 0.99 per cent, 0.78 per cent & 0.70 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Bajaj Finance, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro turned out to be the top three losers, which tumbled 3.86 per cent, 3.67 per cent & 3.57 per cent, respectively.
