Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex as well as Nifty opened Monday's trading session in the green zone and even at 11.44 am, both the domestic benchmark indices were spotted in the positive territory. While Sensex climbed 1.03 per cent and was seen trading at 58,852.16 levels, Nifty inched higher by 1.01 per cent to be at 17,529.85 levels.
The top three gainers of today's session include TCS, Bajaj Finserv, and Axis Bank, which surged 2.15 per cent, 2.09 per cent & 2.00 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Titan, M&M, and Dr Reddy's Laboratories turned out to be the top three losers, which tanked 0.63 per cent, 0.62 per cent & 0.54 per cent, respectively.
