Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex as well as Nifty opened Thursday's trading session on a weak note. However, at 11.48 am, both the indices were spotted in the positive territory. Sensex climbed 0.07 per cent and was seen trading at 57,845.17 levels while Nifty inched higher by 0.02 per cent to be at 17,217.35 levels.
The top three gainers of today's session include NTPC, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro, which advanced by 1.95 per cent, 1.93 per cent & 1.52 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Axis Bank turned out to be the top three losers, which decreased by 1.45 per cent, 0.78 per cent & 0.75 per cent, respectively.
