Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex and Nifty started Monday's trading session on a negative note. At 11.31 am, Sensex tumbled 2.42 per cent and was spotted at 55,629.31 levels while Nifty declined 2.47 per cent to be at 16,564.85 levels.
The top two gainers of today's session include Power Grid Corporation and Dr Reddy's Laboratories, which advanced 0.50 per cent & 0.18 per cent, respectively. Meanwhile, Bajaj Finance, IndusInd Bank, and Bajaj Finserv turned out to be the top three losers today, which tanked 4.88 per cent, 4.30 per cent & 4.06 per cent, respectively.
