Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The domestic benchmark indices opened Friday's session on a flat note with negative bias. At 11.15 am, both Sensex, as well as Nifty, were trading in the red zone i.e. down by 1.14 per cent & 1.23 per cent at 57,243.43 levels and 17,035.90 levels, respectively.
The top three gainers of today's session include Infosys, HCL Technologies, and TCS, which surged 3.09 per cent, 1.25 per cent & 0.80 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Titan, IndusInd Bank, and Reliance turned out to be the top three losers, which tanked 3.38 per cent, 3.04 per cent & 2.82 per cent, respectively.
