Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
The domestic benchmark indices opened Thursday's trading session on a positive note. At 11.39 am, both Sensex, as well as Nifty, were trading in the green zone i.e. at 57,817.44 levels and 17,237.20 levels, up by 0.05 per cent & 0.09 per cent, respectively.
Bajaj Finance, Infosys, and M&M emerged as the top three gainers today, which climbed 1.92 per cent, 1.71 per cent & 1.09 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Sun Pharma, Maruti, and Bajaj Auto turned out to be the top three losers, which tanked 1.77 per cent, 1.74 per cent & 1.29 per cent, respectively.
