Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex and Nifty opened in the green on the last trading session of the week as the stock market will remain closed on Thursday as well as Friday on the occasion of Diwali (Laxmi Pujan & Balipratipada).
At 11.40 am on Wednesday, both Sensex, as well as Nifty, were trading in the green, up by 0.29 per cent & 0.33 per cent at 60,200.27 and 17,947.65 levels, respectively.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Larsen & Toubro, Tech Mahindra, and UltraTech Cement, which soared 5.18 per cent, 1.95 per cent & 1.65 per cent, respectively.
On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical, Bharti Airtel, and Titan turned out to be the top three losers today, which tanked 2.06 per cent, 0.97 per cent & 0.76 per cent, respectively.
