Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
On Tuesday, Sensex and Nifty opened in the green zone. However, at 11.34 am, both plunged into the negative territory. While Sensex was seen trading at 60,869.58 levels, down by 0.16 per cent, Nifty slipped 0.04 per cent to be at 18,117.70 levels.
The top three gainers of today’s session include Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel, and Bajaj Finance, which climbed 2.61 per cent, 2.04 per cent & 1.60 per cent.
Axis Bank, Induslnd Bank, and ICICI Bank turned out to be the top three losers today, which plunged 2.37 per cent, 1.66 per cent & 1.49 per cent, respectively.
